Scientific Data Images for Human JAB1 Antibody
Detection of Human JAB1 by Western Blot.
Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human JAB1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB6390) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for JAB1 at approximately 38 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.Applications for Human JAB1 Antibody

Background: JAB1
JAB1 (Jun activation domain binding protein-1), also called COPS5 or CSN5 (COP9 signalosome-5), is a 334 amino acid (aa), 38 kDa protein that is a subunit of the COP9 signalosome complex. It mediates cytosolic translocation of the cell cycle inhibitory protein, CDKN1B/p27Kip1, for degradation, thus promoting proliferation. It is widely expressed, especially in proliferating cells and up-regulates granulopoiesis when overexpressed. Within the region used as an immunogen, human JAB1 shares 99% aa identity with mouse and rat JAB1. A 379 aa isoform contains 93 alternate aa in place of the N-terminal 48 aa of the 334 aa form.
