TLRs Signaling Pathway
Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are a class of pattern recognition receptor proteins and recognize molecules that are broadly shared by pathogens but distinguishable from host molecules. TLRs are membrane-spanning, non-catalytic and usually expressed in sentinel cells such as macrophages and dendritic cells. TLRs participate in the first line of defense against invading pathogens and play a significant role in inflammation, immune cell regulation, survival, and proliferation.
