Biological Activity for Cabergoline

Cabergoline is a selective D₂-like dopamine receptor agonist (K_i values are 0.7, 1.5, 9.0 and 165 nM for D₂, D₃, D₄ and D₅ receptors respectively) that also displays high affinity for several serotonin receptor subtypes (K_i = 1.2 - 20.0 nM for 5-HT_1A, 5-HT_1D, 5-HT_2A and 5-HT_2B). Inhibits secretion of prolactin and growth hormone and reverses levodopa-induced dyskinesias in Parkinsonian monkeys.
