Discover a simple imaged capillary isoelectric focusing (icIEF) and LC-MS workflow that provides in-depth characterization of the charge variants of Benlysta™ (belimumab), a therapeutic monoclonal antibody (mAb) and a research grade biosimilar.

In this talk, we describe how the powerful combination of the MauriceFlex™ System and Waters BioAccord™ LC-MS can offer a fast, simple workflow that utilizes icIEF-based charge separation and fractionation followed by intact mass analysis. The talk demonstrates how leveraging these two benchtop platforms can uncover critical differences between a therapeutic mAb and its biosimilar.

Following a Master’s degree in Physiology at Pierre and Marie Curie University and an Engineering degree at the University of Technology of Compiègne and University of Waterloo, Jean-François moved to Oxford in 2013 to embark on an 11+-year journey at Bio-Techne. After a decade spent in the Technical Support Department, training and helping researchers with their analytical methods both remotely and in the field, he became in 2022 the Market Development Manager for Bio-Techne's Biologics systems. He was responsible for supporting the launch of the new MauriceFlex system in Europe and continues to drive new product development and collaborations to help the Biopharma community automating their workflow and accelerating their discovery-to-market process.
