FGF-11 Products
Human FGF-11 was originally cloned from a human retinal cDNA library and found to encode a protein 225 aa in length with no signal sequence and internal basic aa clusters that may constitute an NLS. Mouse FGF-11 has also been cloned, and found to consist of two alternate splice forms; one 225 aa in length and another 165 aa in length. Their significance is unknown. 165, 166 The long form of mouse and human FGF-11 share 97% aa identity. FHF-3 (originally named as a fibroblast growth factor homologous factor) is found throughout the embryo at various stages.
