Western Blot: APRIL/TNFSF13 Antibody (Aprily-5)BSA Free [NBP1-97599]

Western Blot: APRIL/TNFSF13 Antibody (Aprily-5)BSA Free [NBP1-97599]

Western Blot: APRIL/TNFSF13 Antibody (Aprily-5) [NBP1-97599] - Breast cancer cells induce secretion of APRIL from neutrophils. APRIL stalk is clearly detectable in neutrophils but not in breast cancer cells. On the left panel, lysates of MCF7, T47D, Hs578T, and SKBR3 cells (60 ug each), as well as neutrophils (5 ug) were subjected to SDS-PAGE and western blotting using APRIL stalk antibody. On the right panel, neutrophils and T47D cells [non-transfected and transfected with pCR3 (T47D-pCR3) or pCR3-soluble APRIL (T47D-pCR3-sAPRIL)] were immunoblotted using Aprily-5 (Novus Biologicals: NBP1-97599; top panel) and reblotted using April ED (middle panel) antibodies. Aprily-5 detects soluble APRIL. The bottom panel shows Ponceau S staining of the membranes Image collected and cropped by CiteAb from the following publication (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41389-018-0058-2) licensed under a CC-BY license.

Background: APRIL/TNFSF13

TNFSF13 is a proliferation-inducing ligand (APRIL), also designated TNFSF13, is a Type II membrane protein that shares characteristics with other members of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) cytokine family. APRIL is expressed in high levels in transformed cell lines and in human colon, thyroid, and lymphoid tumor tissues. APRIL is critically involved in the regulation of infections, inflammation, autoimmune diseases, and tissue homeostasis. APRIL is implicated in the regulation of tumor cell growth. The C-terminal extracellular domain has b jelly roll topography and is important in ligand trimerization. The binding of the ligand to its respective receptor induces oligomerization, initiating downstream signaling events. Intrinsic to oligomerization is the formation of the receptor binding site at the junction between neighboring subunits, creating a multivalent ligand.
