Western Blot: Aurora A/B Antibody (3H1) [NBP2-50043] - Analysis of different cell lysates and recombinant protein solutions using mouse Aurora A/B mAb. Left: cells were treated with 100ng/mL of nocodazol, a microtubule depolymerizing agent which induces cells to halt at G2/M phase, for 6hrs prior western blotting: [1] protein standard, [2] HeLa, [3] canine A72 cells, [4] equine NBL6 cells, and [5] murine KR158 cells. Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Aurora A/B Antibody (3H1) [NBP2-50043] - HeLa cell cultures were stained with NBP2-50043 (green). The antibody stains spindle poles and mitotic spindles at anaphase and concentrates on the midbody between the two daughter cells during telophase. It is therefore a useful marker of dividing cells. Cells were counterstained with chicken polyclonal antibody to Vimentin (NB300-223, red). Blue is a DNA stain.

Application Notes
In WB, this antibody reacts with a band at 46 kDa corresponding to Aurora A and weakly reacts with a band at 38 kD corresponding to Aurora B. In ICC/IF, Aurora A localizes in spindle poles and mitotic spindles at anaphase, while Aurora B localizes in midzone at metaphase and concentrates on the midbody between the two daughter cells during telephase. The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.
