Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: CBX3 Antibody [NBP2-98758] - Immunofluorescence staining of CBX3 in HeLa cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.3% Triton X-100 in PBS, blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with rabbit anti-human CBX3 polyclonal antibody (1:1000) at 4C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor(R)594-conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody (red). Positive staining was localized to nucleus.

Background: CBX3

HP1 gamma appears to be involved in transcriptional silencing in heterochromatin-like complexes. It recognizes and binds histone H3 tails methylated at 'Lys-9', leading to epigenetic repression. HP1 gamma may contribute to the association of the heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane through its interaction with lamin B receptor (LBR) and involved in the formation of functional kinetochore through interaction with MIS12 complex proteins.
