Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: CCR5 Antibody (T21/8) - Chimeric [NBP3-12086] - Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed U937 cells on Shi-fix(TM) coverslips stained with the chimeric rabbit IgG version T21/8 (NBP3-12086) at 10 ug/ml for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor(R) 488 secondary antibody (2 ug/ml), showing membrane staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom NBP3-12086, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The isotype control was an unknown specificity antibody followed by staining with Alexa Fluor(R) 488 secondary antibody.

Flow Cytometry: CCR5 Antibody (T21/8) - Chimeric - Azide and BSA Free [NBP3-12086] -

Flow Cytometry: CCR5 Antibody (T21/8) - Chimeric - Azide and BSA Free [NBP3-12086] - Paraformaldehyde fixed U937 cells were stained with anti-unknown specificity antibody (isotype control, black line) or NBP3-12086 (blue line) at a dilution of 1:100 for 1h at RT. After washing, the bound antibody was detected using a goat anti-rabbit IgG AlexaFluor 488 antibody at a dilution of 1:1000 and cells analyzed using a FACSCanto flow-cytometer.

Background: CCR5

C-C chemokine receptor type 5 (CCR5) is a member of the beta chemokine receptors family of integral membrane proteins. The CCR5 protein is a G protein-coupled receptor which functions as a chemokine receptor in the CC chemokine group.

CCR5 is a major coreceptor for human HIV infection and is predominantly expressed on T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells and microglia. It is likely that CCR5 plays a role in inflammatory responses to infection, though its exact role in normal immune function is unclear.

CCR5 antibodies are useful for HIV infection studies and research on immune responses.
