Scientific Data Images for FADS1 Antibody (7A10)

FADS1 Antibody (7A10)

Immunohistochemistry: FADS1 Antibody (7A10) [NBP3-26590] -

Immunohistochemistry: FADS1 Antibody (7A10) [NBP3-26590] - Image of FADS1 Antibody (7A10) diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human endometrial cancer performed. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a Goat anti-rabbit polymer IgG labeled by HRP and visualized using 0.05% DAB.

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: FADS1 Antibody (7A10) [NBP3-26590] -

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: FADS1 Antibody (7A10) [NBP3-26590] - Staining of HepG2 cell with FADS1 Antibody (7A10) at 1:50, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 565-conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L).

Background: FADS1

FADS1 is encoded by this gene is a member of the fatty acid desaturase (FADS) gene family. Desaturase enzymes regulate unsaturation of fatty acids through the introduction of double bonds between defined carbons of the fatty acyl chain. FADS family members are considered fusion products composed of an N-terminal cytochrome b5-like domain and a C-terminal multiple membrane-spanning desaturase portion, both of which are characterized by conserved histidine motifs. This gene is clustered with family members FADS1 and FADS2 at 11q12-q13.1; this cluster is thought to have arisen evolutionarily from gene duplication based on its similar exon/intron organization.
