Application Notes
Western blot: Approx 75+80kDa band observed in lysates of cell line NIH-3T3 (calculated MW of 59.9 kDa according to NP_001013457.1). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature (Khandjian et al Hum Mol Genet. 1998 Dec;7(13):2121-8.; PMID: 9817930). An additional band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 37 kDa. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Background: FXR1

The protein encoded by this gene is an RNA binding protein that interacts with the functionally-similar proteins FMR1 and FXR2. These proteins shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm and associate with polyribosomes, predominantly with the 60S ribosomal subunit. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
