Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: GALNT2 Antibody [NBP3-00188] - Immunofluorescence staining of GALNT2 in HeLa cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.3% Triton X-100 in PBS, blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with rabbit anti-human GALNT2 polyclonal antibody (1:1000) at 4C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor(R)488-conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG Secondary antibody (green) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Positive staining was localized to cytoplasm.

Background: Polypeptide GalNAc Transferase 2/GALNT2

GALNT2 encodes polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2, a member of the GalNAc-transferases family. This family transfers an N-acetyl galactosamine to the hydroxyl group of a serine or threonine residue in the first step of O-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis. Individual GalNAc-transferases have distinct activities and initiation of O-glycosylation in a cell is regulated by a repertoire of GalNAc-transferases.
