Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: HIST1H2AB Antibody (1H12) [NBP3-15228] - Immunofluorescence staining of Hela cells with at HIST1H2AB antibody 1:168, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4C.The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L).

Background: HIST1H2AB

HIST1H2AB is 130 amino acids long, weighs approximately 14 kDa, and is part of a group of basic nuclear proteins called histones, which are responsible for nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Current studies are being done on several diseases and disorders including riddle syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, lupus erythematosus, cockayne syndrome, hemochromatosis, and immunodeficiency. HIST1H2AB has also been shown to have interactions with HIST1H4A, HIST1H4B, HIST1H4C, HIST1H4D, and HIST1H4E in pathways such as the proteasome degradation, telomere maintenance, nucleosome assembly, cell cycle, and systemic lupus erythematosus pathways.
