Scientific Data Images for Human Daxx Antibody
Detection of Human Daxx by Western Blot.
Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line, Ramos human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line, MCF-7 human breast cancer cell line, and Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Human Daxx Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF4548) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF017). A specific band was detected for Daxx at approximately 115 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted using Immunoblot Buffer Group 2.Applications for Human Daxx Antibody

Background: Daxx
Daxx (Fas death domain-associated-xx; also death domain-associated protein 6) is a ubiquitously expressed, proapoptotic protein that belongs to the Daxx family of molecules. Although it has a predicted MW of 81 kDa, it runs anomously at 110 kDa in SDS-PAGE. Daxx is found in the nucleus where it represses transcription. In the cytoplasm, it binds to ASK1, where it mediates Fas-induced apoptosis. Human Daxx is 740 amino acids (aa) in length and contains three coiled-coil regions (aa 180‑217; 358‑399; 430‑489), two NLSs, and an Asp/Glu-rich acidic region (aa 434‑572). One splice variant is known that shows a 15 aa substitution for aa 696‑740. Human Daxx shares 71% and 90% aa identity with mouse and dog Daxx, respectively.
