Background: Lymphotoxin beta/TNFSF3

Lymphotoxin beta is a type II transmembrane protein member of the TNF ligand superfamily and is now designated TNFSF3. Lymphotoxin beta associates with Lymphotoxin alpha to form two types of heterotrimers, Lymphotoxin alpha1 beta2 and Lymphotoxin  alpha2 beta1. Lymphotoxin beta is expressed by activated CD4 T cells, unpolarized IL‑2‑secreting effector T cells, and Th1 effector cells.
