Background: Rev-erb A alpha/NR1D1

Reverse orientation c-erbA-1 gene alpha (Rev-Erb alpha, ear1; NR1D1) is a member of the Orphan Nuclear Receptor family. Rev-Erb alpha is expressed in skeletal muscles, brown fat, liver, heart, brain, pituitary, kidney, testis, lung, and hypothalamus. Rev-Erb alpha has broad roles in cell proliferation and physiology. Rev-Erb alpha expression is regulated along a circadian rhythm.
