Background: Insulin R/CD220

Insulin receptor plays a major part in the regulation of glucose homeostasis, which when malfunctioning can result in diabetes and cancer. Encoded by the INSR gene, insulin receptor has two isoforms produced by alternative splicing, HIR-B and HIR-A.
