WB: Approx. 80-85 kDa band observed in mouse and rat heart, and rat kidney lysates (calculated MW of 77.8 kDa band according to mouse NP_035975.1 and 83.1 kDa band according to rat NP_001178818.1). IHC-P: Human kidney shows strong staining in cytoplasm and brush border of some epithelial cells of proximal convoluted tubules.

Background: MID2

MID2 is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The MID motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. The protein localizes to microtubular structures in the cytoplasm. Its function has not been identified. Alternate splicing of the gene encoding MID2 results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
