Product Specifications

Immunogen

Synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Tyr1252 conjugated to KLH. Accession # Q00960

Modification

p Tyr1252

Localization

Integral membrane protein.

Specificity

Specific for endogenous levels of the ~180 kDa NMDAR2B protein phosphorylated at Tyr1252 . Immunolabeling is completely eliminated by treatment with lambda-phosphatase. May also show slight reactivity with Tyr1246 of NR2A.

Clonality

Polyclonal

Host

Rabbit

Isotype

IgG

Theoretical MW

180 kDa.
Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Western Blot: NMDAR2B [p Tyr1252] Antibody [NB300-292]

Western Blot: NMDAR2B [p Tyr1252] Antibody [NB300-292]

Western Blot: NMDAR2B [p Tyr1252] Antibody [NB300-292] - Rat hippocampal lysate showing specific immunolabeling of the ~180k NR2B subunit phosphorylated at Tyr1252 (Control). Phosphospecificity is shown in the second lane (lambda-phosphatase: lambda-Ptase). The blot is identical to the control except that it was incubated in lambda-Ptase (1200 units for 30 min) before being exposed to the phospho-Tyr1252 NMDA NR2B subunit antibody. The immunolabeling is completely eliminated by treatment with lambda-Ptase.

Background: NMDAR2B

The NMDA receptor (NMDAR) plays an essential role in memory, neuronal development and it has been implicated in several disorders of the CNS including Alzheimer's, epilepsy and ischemic neuronal death. Phosphorylation of Tyr 1252 is thought to potentiate NMDAR dependent influx of calcium. (1-6)
