Scientific Data Images for P2X7/P2RX7 Antibody (545205) [Unconjugated]

Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin: P2X7/P2RX7 Antibody (545205) [Unconjugated] [MAB97901] - P2X7/P2RX7 was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human bladder using Mouse Anti-Human P2X7/P2RX7 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB97901) at 5 ug/mL for 1 hour at room temperature followed by incubation with the Anti-Mouse IgG VisUCyte HRP Polymer Antibody (Catalog # VC001). Before incubation with the primary antibody, tissue was subjected to heat-induced epitope retrieval using Antigen Retrieval Reagent-Basic (Catalog # CTS013). Tissue was stained using DAB (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm and cell membrane of epithelial cells in convoluted tubules. View our protocol for IHC Staining with VisUCyte HRP Polymer Detection Reagents.

Background: P2X7/P2RX7

FUNCTION: Receptor for ATP that acts as a ligand gated ion channel. Responsible for ATP-dependent lysis of macrophages through the formation of membrane pores permeable to large molecules. Could function in both fast synaptic transmission and the ATP-mediated lysis of antigen-presenting cells.; Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
