Applications for PACE4/PCSK6 Antibody

Application
Recommended Usage

Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin

3.75 ug/ml

Peptide ELISA

Detection limit 1:8000

Western Blot

1ug/ml
Application Notes
Western blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx. 70kDa band in Human, Mouse and Rat Liver lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated sizes of 105 to 107kDa according to NP_002561.1, NP_612192.1, NP_612193.1 and NP_612194.1. The 70kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.
IHC: Paraffin embedded Human Testis and Skeletal Muscle.

Background: PACE4/PCSK6

The protein encoded by the PACE4 gene belongs to the subtilisin-like proprotein convertase family. The members of this family are proprotein convertases that process latent precursor proteins into their biologically active products. This encoded protein is a calcium-dependent serine endoprotease that can cleave precursor protein at their paired basic amino acid processing sites. Some of its substrates are - transforming growth factor beta related proteins, proalbumin, and von Willebrand factor. This gene is thought to play a role in tumor progression. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. (provided by RefSeq)
