Product Summary for Plexin A1 Antibody

Immunogen

Plexin A1 synthetic peptide (coupled to carrier protein) corresponding to a region within the semaphorin domain in human Plexin A1. This sequence is highly conserved in rat and mouse Plexin A1, and has low homology to other Plexin family members. [UniProt# Q9UIW2]

Specificity

The antibody detects a 220 kDa protein corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of Plexin A1 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of adult mouse brain and Cos-7 cells transfected with mouse Plexin A1. In immunocytochemistry, this antibody co-localizes with anti-Myc in Cos-7 cells transfected with Myc-tagged mouse Plexin A1.

Clonality

Polyclonal

Host

Rabbit

Isotype

IgG

Theoretical MW

220 kDa.
Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Description

Stable for at least 1 year at -20°C.

Scientific Data Images for Plexin A1 Antibody

Plexin A1 Antibody

Western Blot: Plexin A1 Antibody [NBP3-23317] -

Western Blot: Plexin A1 Antibody [NBP3-23317] - Western blots showing mouse brain (lanes 1 & 4), and Cos-7 cells untransfected (lanes 2 & 5) or transfected with mouse myc-tagged Plexin A1 (lanes 3 & 6). The blots were probed with either affinity purified anti-Plexin A1 (NBP3-23317); lanes 1-3) or with mouse monoclonal anti-Myc (lanes 4-6).
Plexin A1 Antibody

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Plexin A1 Antibody [NBP3-23317] -

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Plexin A1 Antibody [NBP3-23317] - Immunocytochemical double labeling using anti-Myc mouse monoclonal and anti-Plexin A1 rabbit polyclonal (NBP3-23317) antibodies in Cos-7 cells mock transfected (A,D) or transfected with Myc-tagged mouse Plexin A1 construct (B,E). The specificity of the binding in E was demonstrated by using Plexin A1 peptide in the presence of this anti-Plexin A1 antibody (C,F).

Background: Plexin A1

Coreceptor for SEMA3A, SEMA3C, SEMA3F and SEMA6D. Necessary for signaling by class 3 semaphorins and subsequent remodeling of the cytoskeleton. Plays a role in axon guidance, invasive growth and cell migration. Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex composed of a neuropilin and a plexin. The plexin modulates the affinity of the complex for specific semaphorins, and its cytoplasmic domain is required for the activation of down-stream signaling events in the cytoplasm
