Western Blot: SIPA1 Antibody [NB100-1390]

Western Blot: SIPA1 Antibody [NB100-1390] - Analysis of SIPA1 in Human EBV-immortilized lymphoblastoid lysate (RIPA buffer, 35ug total protein per lane) at 1ug/ml. Primary incubated for 1 hour. Detected by western blot using chemiluminescence.

Applications for SIPA1 Antibody

Application
Recommended Usage

Peptide ELISA

Detection limit 1:32000

Western Blot

1 - 3 ug/ml
Application Notes
WB: Approx. 150 kDa band observed in human lysates of EBV-immortilized lymphoblastoid is reported in scientific literature (PMID: 9346962). An additional band of 55-60 kDa band was consistently observed, however this band was not blocked by the immunizing peptide and it is therefore a non-specific signal. We call for caution when this product is used for other assays than WB.

Background: SIPA1

The product of this gene is a mitogen induced GTPase activating protein (GAP). It exhibits a specific GAP activity for Ras-related regulatory proteins Rap1 and Rap2, but not for Ran or other small GTPases. This protein may also hamper mitogen-induced cell cycle progression when abnormally or prematurely expressed. It is localized to the perinuclear region. Two alternatively spliced variants encoding the same isoform have been characterized to date. [provided by RefSeq]

Alternate Names
