Background: GITR Ligand/TNFSF18

GITRL (AITR Ligand/TNFSF18) is a cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family and it is encoded by the TNFSF18 gene. This cytokine is a ligand for receptor TNFRSF18/AITR/GITR. It has been shown to modulate T lymphocyte survival in peripheral tissues. It is also found to be expressed in endothelial cells, and is thought to be important for interaction between T lymphocytes and endothelial cells. Recombinant human GITRL (AITR Ligand/TNFSF18) is a 14.3 kDa protein, containing 126 amino acid residues and it shares 56 % and 60 % a.a. sequence identity with murine and rat TNFSF18, respectively.

Product Specific Notices for Recombinant Human GITR Ligand/TNFSF18 Protein

This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
