CHERP: Proteins and Enzymes
CHERP (calcium homeostasis endoplasmic reticulum protein) influences cytoplasmic Ca2+ levels, and hence calcium-mediated processes such as cell proliferation. How it exerts its effects is currently under debate; it may be via Ins(1,4,5)P3 receptors and/or RyR 1 (ryanodine type 1) receptors (both calcium channels), and/or the spliceosome.
