Collagen VI alpha 2 belongs to the type VI collagen family and acts as a cell-binding protein as well as having a role in extracellular matrix upkeep. Collagen VI alpha 2 has been studied in relation to Bethlem myopathy and Ullrich scleroatonic muscular dystrophy.
