Collagen XXIII alpha 1: Lysates
Collagen XXIII alpha 1 is a member of the collagenous transmembrane protein superfamily that includes collagens XIII, XVII, XXV and some non-collagens with triple-helical regions. Proteolytic cleavage by furin allows the collagen XXIII soluble ectodomain to be secreted. Collagen XXIII is concentrated at sites of cell contact in epithelia, and is thought to be an adhesion molecule. Its upregulation has been correlated with aggressiveness in transformed cells, particularly in prostate cancer.
