Cornulin: Proteins and Enzymes
Cornulin, also known as CRNN, C1ORF10 and SEP53, is a member of the fused gene family of molecular chaperones. It is a (cornified) stratified squamous epithelial protein that is considered a marker of late keratinocyte differentiation. Human cornulin contains an S100/EF-hand Ca++-binding domain and two mid-molecule Thr/Gln-rich repeats.
