CPNE5: Proteins and Enzymes
Copine 5 or Copine V (CPNE5) is a member of the copine family. The copines are ubiquitous, Ca2+ dependent, phospholipid-binding proteins. Due to the copine's phospholipid binding capabilities, it is thought that they play a role in membrane trafficking. CPNE5 contains two N-terminal type II C2 domains and, in the C-terminus, an integrin A domain-like sequence. Recent studies with Arabidopsis suggest that copines may also play a role in cell division and growth.
