DDX5: Proteins and Enzymes
The DEAD box (DDX) family is a large family of RNA helicases that contain the conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) motif and are characterized by nine conserved motifs. They play important roles in RNA metabolism and may influence RNA transport, transcription, ribosome assembly, spliceosome function, RNA degradation, and the initiation of translation. DDX-5 and DDX-17 are often expressed together.
