Enteropeptidase/Enterokinase (EK) initiates activation of pancreatic proteases by converting trypsinogen to trypsin, which in turn activates chymotrypsin, carboxypeptidases and elastases. Located in intestinal brush border, it is a disulfide bond-linked dimer, composed of heavy and light chains.
