H4/n: Lysates

Histones are nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber as they play a critical role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication, and chromosomal stability. H4/N is a103 amino acid long, 11 kDA protein encoded by the HIST2H4A gene found on chromosome 1. HIST2H4A is one of four histone genes in this specific cluster that are duplicated, representing the centromeric copy. HIST2H4A is involved in type II interferon signaling, development notch signaling pathway, transcription Sin3 and NuRD in transcription regulation, and telomere maintenance through interactions with genes HIST1H3B, HIST1H3C, HIST1H3D, HIST1H3E, and HIST1H3F. It has been investigated for its role in lymphoma, carcinoma, leukemia, herpes simplex, thyroiditis, and lupus.
