IL-17D: Proteins and Enzymes
Interleukin-17B is a disulfide-linked pro-inflammatory cytokine that functions in tumor and virus surveillance. IL-17 family cytokines signal through IL-17 RA, -B, -C, -D, -E, -H1, and -L. IL-17D is expressed preferentially in skeletal muscle, heart, adipose tissue, lung, pancreas, and the nervous system. It modulates immune responses indirectly by stimulating the production of myeloid growth factors and chemokines, including IL-6, IL-8, and GM-CSF. In addition, IL-17D can suppress the proliferation of myeloid progenitors in colony formation assays.
