MICL/CLEC12A: Proteins and Enzymes

MICL is a member of the group V subfamily of the C-type lectin-like family of molecules. It is found on the cell surface, contains an ITIM (immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif) in its cytoplasmic domain, and is N-glycosylated. Expression of MICL is restricted to granulocytes and monocytes, and it may function as a negative regulator of these cell types. At least three isoforms of MICL are generated by alternative splicing, including one that lacks the transmembrane domain.
