Neurexin 2 alpha/NRXN2a: Proteins and Enzymes
The alpha and beta forms of Neurexins 1 - 3 are transmembrane neuronal glycoproteins which are transcribed from each of the three NRXN genes from alternate promoters. The interaction of presynaptic Neurexins with postsynaptic Neuroligins is important for synaptic development and is restricted to particular combinations of splice forms of each binding partner.
