Olfactory receptor, family 3, subfamily A, member 4 pseudogene (OR3A4) plays an integral part to the membrane. Belonging to the G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) family, the olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the genome. This olfactory receptor proteins main function is to act as an Odorant receptor. More specifically, the interaction with odorant molecules in the nose initiates a neuronal response that triggers the perception of smell.
