RARRES3: Lysates
RARRES3 (retinoic acid receptor responder 3), also called Tig3 (tazarotene-induced gene 3) or RIG1 (retinoid-inducible gene 1), is an 18 kDa, 164 amino acid (aa) cytoplasmic protein within the LRAT (lecithin retinol acyltransferase) family of growth inhibitory proteins, which are class II tumor-suppressors. RARRES3 is expressed in a variety of cells including epidermal keratinocytes, and may be downregulated in tumor cells and cell lines. It shows phospholipase activity and interaction with type I transglutaminase. A C-terminal hydrophobic region allows perinuclear localization. RARRES3 is not structurally related to other RARRES genes.
