TAPP1: Proteins and Enzymes
TAPP1 is a member of family A within the Pleckstrin homology domain-containing protein (PLEKH) superfamily. The Pleckstrin homology (PH) domain is approximately 100-120 amino acids in length, which adopts a seven beta-strand sandwich orientation that is closed by an alpha-helix. While PH domains perform multiple functions, the isolated C-terminal PH domain of TAPP1 interacts specifically with phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate (PtdIns(3,4)P2) and recruits proteins to the plasma membrane.
