Vav-1: Proteins and Enzymes
The Vav-1 proto-oncogene is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for the low molecular weight GTPases of the Rho/Rac family. It is a cytosolic protein primarily expressed in hematopoietic cells and plays an essential role in the proliferation and activation of T and B cells. Vav-1 is activated by TCR signaling, and is essential for MAPK and NFkB stimulation, and inside-out activation of LFA-1.
