Accession # P51681
Specificity
Detects human CCR5. Specifically stains human CCR5 transfectants but not the parental cell lines. It does not cross-react with human CCR1, CCR2, or CCR3. Can be used to detect CCR5 present on stimulated human PBMCs. For additional information regarding epitope specificity for this antibody and other R&D Systems anti-human CCR5 antibodies, see Lee, B. et al. (1999) J. Biol. Chem. 274:9617.

Background: CCR5
CCR5 is a major coreceptor for human HIV infection and is predominantly expressed on T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells and microglia. It is likely that CCR5 plays a role in inflammatory responses to infection, though its exact role in normal immune function is unclear.
CCR5 antibodies are useful for HIV infection studies and research on immune responses.

CCR5, CD195

CCR5
