Scientific Data Images for Human Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC Antibody
Detection of Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC Mouse by Western Blot.
Western blot shows lysates of Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Human Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB3564) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). A specific band was detected for Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC at approximately 54 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.Western Blot Shows Human Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC Specificity by Using Knockout Cell Line.
Western blot shows lysates of Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia parental cell line and Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC Jurkat cell line (KO). PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB3564) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC at approximately 54 kDa (as indicated) in the parental Jurkat cell line, but is not detectable in knockout Jurkat cell line. GAPDH (Catalog # MAB5718) is shown as a loading control. This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.Applications for Human Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC Antibody

Background: Dopa Decarboxylase/DDC
Dopa decarboxylase (DDC), also known as aromatic amino acid decarboxylase, is a group II decarboxylase (1). The enzyme catalyzes the decarboxylation of aromatic L-amino acids to produce the corresponding amines. DDC produces the neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin from L-Dopa and L-5-hydroxytryptophan, respectively. The inhibition of DDC could be used for the treatment of schizophrenia and Parkinson's disease (2).
