Scientific Data Images for Human/Mouse Haptoglobin Antibody

Detection of Human and Mouse Haptoglobin antibody by Western Blot.

Detection of Human and Mouse Haptoglobin by Western Blot.

Western blot shows human plasma. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.1 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human/Mouse Haptoglobin Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF8465) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF017). A specific band was detected for Haptoglobin at approximately 45 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.
Detection of Human and Mouse Haptoglobin antibody by Western Blot.

Detection of Human and Mouse Haptoglobin by Western Blot.

Western blot shows lysates of human Haptoglobin purified from human serum and mouse haptoglobin purified from mouse serum. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.2 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human/Mouse Haptoglobin Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF8465) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF017). A specific band was detected for Haptoglobin at approximately 45 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.
Detection of Human Haptoglobin antibody by Simple WesternTM.

Detection of Human Haptoglobin by Simple WesternTM.

Simple Western lane view shows human serum, loaded at 1:25000 dilution. A specific band was detected for Haptoglobin at approximately 60 kDa (as indicated) using 1 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human/Mouse Haptoglobin Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF8465) followed by 1:50 dilution of HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF019). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using the 12-230 kDa separation system.

Applications for Human/Mouse Haptoglobin Antibody

Application
Recommended Usage

ELISA

This antibody functions as an ELISA detection antibody when paired with Mouse Anti-Human Haptoglobin Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB8465).

This product is intended for assay development on various assay platforms requiring antibody pairs. We recommend the Human Haptoglobin DuoSet ELISA Kit (Catalog # DY8465-05) for convenient development of a sandwich ELISA or the Human Haptoglobin Quantikine ELISA Kit (Catalog # DHAPG0) for a complete optimized ELISA.

Background: Haptoglobin

Haptoglobin is a 406 aminoacids (aa) protein that in humans is encoded by the HP gene. This gene encodes a preproprotein that is processed into alpha (aa 19-160) and beta (aa 162-406) chains that combine as a tetramer to produce haptoglobin. Haptoglobin captures, and combines with free plasma hemoglobin to allow hepatic recycling of heme iron and to prevent kidney damage.
