Product Summary

Immunogen

Antibody was raised against a peptide corresponding to 16 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human Lysine (K)-specific Demethylase 6B/KDM6B/JMJD3. The immunogen is located within amino acids 1370-1420 of Lysine (K)-specific Demethylase 6B/KDM6B/JMJD3. Amino Acid Sequence: KVPGSRTPGHQENNNF

Specificity

This antibody is specific for Lysine (K)-specific Demethylase 6B/KDM6B/JMJD3 and will not recognize other JMJD proteins. Human Lysine (K)-specific Demethylase 6B/KDM6B/JMJD3 has 2 isoforms, including isoform 1 (1682aa, 181kD) and isoform 2 (1643aa, 177kD). Mouse Lysine (K)-specific Demethylase 6B/KDM6B/JMJD3 has one isoform (1641aa, 176kD) and rat Lysine (K)-specific Demethylase 6B/KDM6B/JMJD3 also has one isoform (1356aa, 146kD). NBP2-82107 can detect human, mouse and rat.

Description

CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(IM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

Background: Lysine (K)-specific Demethylase 6B/KDM6B

JMJD3 is a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates trimethylated and dimethylated 'Lys-27' of histone H3, thereby playing a central role in histone code. JMJD3 is also important for the regulation of posterior development by regulating HOX gene expression. JMJD3 is involved in inflammatory response by participating in macrophage differentiation in case of inflammation by regulating gene expression and macrophage differentiation. It has also been shown to be essential to mammalian epidermal differentiation and is upregulated in prostate cancer.

JMJD3 antibodies are useful tools for epigenetics research and specifically for histone modification studies.
