Background: B220/CD45R

B220 is the mouse CD45 isoform CD45R, which is predominantly expressed on all B lymphocytes, including pro-, mature and activated B cells. The level of B220 antigen expression on cells of the B cell lineage is developmentally regulated, and the antibody described here is commonly used to identify this B cell marker. RA3-6B2 has been reported to inhibit in vivo B cell responses. The extracellular region of mouse B220 shares 41% amino acid sequence identity with the extracellular region of human CD45.
