Product Summary for YB1 Antibody (rYBX1/2430) [CoraFluor™ 1]

Immunogen

Recombinant human full-length YB1 protein (Uniprot: P67809)

Localization

Cytoplasmic and Nuclear

Specificity

The specificity of this monoclonal antibody to its intended target was validated by HuProtTM Array, containing more than 19,000, full-length human proteins. Y-box binding protein-1 (YBX1) is the prototypic member of the cold shock protein family that fulfills numerous cellular functions. In the nucleus, YBX1 protein orchestrates transcription of proliferation-related genes, whereas in the cytoplasm it associates with mRNA and directs translation. In human tumor entities, such as breast, lung and prostate cancer, cellular YBX1 expression indicates poor clinical outcome, suggesting that YBX1 is an attractive marker to predict patients prognosis.

Description

CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(IM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

Background: YB1

The Y-box binding protein 1 (YB1) is a pluripotent DNA/RNA-binding factor which regulates gene expression through transcription and translation. YB1 has been shown to be a marker of tumor aggressiveness and belongs to the cold-shock domain family.
