Western Blot: IL-18/IL-1F4 Antibody (125-2H) [NBP2-81040] - Western Blot using IL-18/IL-1F4 Antibody (125-2H) [NBP2-81040]. HeLa cell lysate samples (35ug protein in RIPA buffer) were resolved on a 15% SDS PAGE gel and blots probed with the rabbit IgG-chimeric version of 125-2H [NBP2-81040] at 2 ug/ml before detection using an anti-rabbit secondary antibody. Protein was detected by chemiluminescence. The expected running size for IL18 is 22.3kDa. NBP2-81040 successfully detected IL18 in HeLa cell lysate samples.

Background: IL-18/IL-1F4

The protein encoded by the IL18 gene is a proinflammatory cytokine. This cytokine can induce the IFN-gamma production of T cells. The combination of this cytokine and IL12 has been shown to inhibit IL4 dependent IgE and IgG1 production, and enhance IgG2a production of B cells. IL-18 binding protein (IL18BP) can specifically interact with this cytokine, and thus negatively regulate its biological activity. (provided by RefSeq)
