This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Biotin coupled to sepharose beads. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Goat Serum, biotinylated bovine serum albumin and Biotinylated IgG.

Scientific Data Images for Biotin Antibody [HRP]

ELISA: Biotin Antibody [HRP] [NB120-6651] - ELISA results of purified Goat anti-Biotin Antibody Peroxidase Conjugated tested against purified biotin. Each well was coated in duplicate with 1.0 ug of Bovine Albumin Biotin Conjugated. The starting dilution of antibody was 5ug/ml and the X-axis represents the Log10 of a 3-fold dilution. This titration is a 4-parameter curve fit where the IC50 is defined as the titer of the antibody. Assay performed using 3 percent fish gelatin as blocking buffer and TMB substrate.

Background: Biotin

Biotin is a water soluble vitamin, generally classified as a B complex vitamin, also called vitamin B4. After the initial discovery of biotin, nearly forty years of research were required to establish it as a vitamin. Biotin is required by all organisms but can only be synthesized by bacteria, yeasts, molds, algae, and some plant species. Biotin is required as prosthetic group of enzymes involved in incorporation of carbon dioxide into organic compounds. Biotin has a MW of 244 Da.
