Product Specifications

Immunogen

ADROPIN antibody was raised against an 18 amino acid peptide near the carboxy terminus of human ADROPIN. The immunogen is located within the last 50 amino acids of ADROPIN. Amino Acid Squence: PEKAPPPQKKPSHEGSYL

Specificity

ADROPIN antibody is human, mouse and rat reactive. Despite its predicted molecular weight, ADROPIN often migrates at a higher than expected molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.

Background: Adropin

Energy homeostasis-associated protein (ENHO), also known as Adropin, helps to ] regulate glucose homestasis and lipid metabolism. Adropin is also thought to affect the activity of other metabolic genes, specifically those involved in the production of lipids from carbohydrates.

Adropin is a secreted protein encoded by the ENHO gene found in the brain and liver. In the liver, Adropin has been found to increase in response to high-fat foods and decrease after fasting.
