Immunoprecipitation:Calumenin AntibodyNBP3-29296] -Detection of human CALU by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-CALU antibody NBP3-29296 (lot NBP3-29296-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. CALU was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-CALU.. For blotting immunoprecipitated CALU, NBP3-29296 was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Background: Calumenin

The product of this gene is a calcium-binding protein localized in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and it is involved in such ER functions as protein folding and sorting. This protein belongs to a family of multiple EF-hand proteins (CERC) that include reticulocalbin, ERC-55, and Cab45 and the product of this gene. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq]
