Immunoprecipitation: Cyclin L2 Antibody [NB100-87009]

Immunoprecipitation: Cyclin L2 Antibody [NB100-87009] - Detection of human Cyclin L2 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from Hela cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified Rabbit anti-Cyclin L2 antibody NB100-87009 (lot 2) used for IP at 6 ug per reaction. Cyclin L2 was also immunoprecipitated by a previous lot of this antibody (lot 1) and rabbit anti-Cyclin L2 antibody from Company B. For blotting immunoprecipitated Cyclin L2, NB100-87009 was used at 0.04 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Background: Cyclin L2

Cyclin L2 is a member of the cyclin family of regulatory proteins that associate with and activate cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) to regulate cell cycle progression and transcription. The hallmark characteristic of cyclins is the periodicity of their expression and activity that is regulated transcriptionally and post-transcriptionally via phosphorylation and ubiquitination. Cyclin L2 is part of a group of cyclins that are involved in transcriptional regulation at the level of RNA transcription, initiation, elongation, and RNA processing. The transcriptional regulating cyclins include cyclin C, H, K, L1, L2, T1, and T2 which associate with CDK7, -8, -9, -10 and -12. Cyclin L2 associates with CDK11 and RNA polymerase II and co-localizes with splicing factors and is implicated to play a role in pre-mRNA splicing. Alternate names for cyclin L2 include cyclin M, paneth cell-enhanced expression protein, CCNM, and CCNL2.
